How to Sell

car

We are always on the lookout for quality cars. Whether you own a 30's Alvis, a 50's American classic, a 60's Jaguar, or an 80's Mercedes, we would be pleased to hear from you. Just contact us by email or telephone, and tell us more about:

  • Make and model
  • Construction year
  • Engine capacity/number of cylinders
  • Body style
  • Coachbuilder (if applicable)
  • Exterior and interior colours
  • General condition of the vehicle and restoration work done

We will agree on a pre-sale estimate and the reserve price, which is the minimum price at which you are prepared to sell the vehicle. The reserve price remains fully confidential between you and us, and is unknown to potential buyers. Once particulars are agreed, we will list the vehicle on on our website until a mutually agreed auction end date. There is no fee for entering a vehicle with us. We charge a seller's fee of 4% of the hammer price + VAT once the vehicle is sold. This is the lowest sales commission in the business.

For the security and peace of mind of all parties, buyers pay for the vehicles via a segregated client escrow account. We will notify you once payment has been received from the buyer, and instruct you to release the vehicle either directly to the buyer or to an agreed vehicle transport company. You will be paid no later than three business days after the vehicle has been released to the buyer.

If you wish to have the car independently inspected and professionally photographed, we will arrange to do so at a time and place of your convenience. We charge GBP 250 +VAT for this service, which we believe increases the chance of selling your car.

Potential buyers may wish to inspect your car in person before bidding. We forward viewing requests to you, unless you instruct us otherwise. All potential buyers looking to view a vehicle will be vetted prior to bidding by us, avoiding time wasters. If you do not wish potential buyers to view the vehicle at your premises, we can arrange to store the vehicle with a specialist classic car storage company to facilitate inspections by potential buyers.
